3.15 – 3.40pm: Photography intro for over 7s

They learnt about perspective – taking photos from above, on level, and below. Next photography session on Oct 8^th we will focus on backgrounds.

3.40– 4.20pm:

This sounds like a fun show - we are going Tuesday night. Tickets can be delivered home if you call them. The show is on Tue and Wed nights - 7pm. Bit late for a school night, but it's a one-off.

Cinderella play rehearsal 2.30pm Saturday!

Hello,

Just to say I have emailed the Cinderella script to the parents, and will give out the hard copies at class tomorrow. Need the children involved in this play to be there at 2.30pm sharp - we will do stretches, voice exercises, and straight into play rehearsal - would like to do one runthrough. The rest will do singing with Sharanya while I rehearse with the Cinderella kids. Next week we will rehearse Harry Potter and Room on the Broom as well.

Other things for this session: poetry, intro to photography, and dancing. Snack: home-made apple cupcakes!

Winter term 2011 schedule

This is just to say that the new A to Zee Creativity term is just beginning. Classes are (as you know) every Saturday 2.30pm till 4.30pmin R.A.Puram. New children can join now if they would like to. Would like to decide which child will be playing which role in the three plays we are doing: Harry Potter, Room on the Broom, and Cinderella.

We are doing the following this term (mid-Sep - mid Dec 2011):

Songs with Sharanya from the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Elvis, and other sixties numbers.

Dancing with Manikandan & Prarthana: The jive and the twist!

Photography - new thing this term! with Shaan

Art & Craft - tie-dye with Tania

Poetry: Tehzeeb will continue to teach them a selection of fine poems

Theatre: I have some of my adult actor friends from the Madras Players and other groups joining the children for some of the plays we will be performing at our end-of-year production. This will inspire the children.

For this coming Saturday please can you send a basic digital camera labelled with your child's name - with children aged 7 and above? If you have a 6-year-old and feel they are likely to be ok handling it then do feel free to send your 6-year-old with the camera.No child below 6 will join the photography session.

The rest will listen to the talk, and then will do art or singing.
